Oppo Find N5 Teased Ahead of Launch, Poised to Outshine Galaxy Z Fold 6

Key Points

  • The Oppo Find N5 is set to launch soon and may be sold as the OnePlus Open 2 in some markets.
  • A teaser image suggests it has a significantly less visible screen crease compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
  • The foldable’s main display is expected to be larger than Samsung’s 7.6-inch panel.
  • Waterproofing improvements will make the Find N5 more durable in various conditions.

With the Oppo Find N5’s launch just days away, anticipation is building as the company teases significant improvements over its predecessor. The foldable device, which is expected to launch in some regions as the OnePlus Open 2, appears set to challenge Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 in key areas like display quality, durability, and overall design.

Pete Lau, Oppo’s Chief Product Officer, and former OnePlus founder, recently shared a teaser image comparing the Oppo Find N5 to an unnamed competitor—widely believed to be the Galaxy Z Fold 6. The image highlights the foldable’s screen, showcasing a near-invisible crease, a major selling point of Oppo and OnePlus foldable devices. The previous OnePlus Open was praised for its barely noticeable screen crease, and the Find N5 appears to take this improvement even further.

The Oppo Find N5 is also expected to feature a larger display than the Galaxy Z Fold 6. While Samsung’s latest foldable boasts a 7.6-inch main screen, the previous OnePlus Open had a 7.82-inch panel, suggesting that the Find N5 may offer an even more immersive viewing experience.

Another key upgrade is waterproofing. Oppo has emphasized that the Find N5 will be highly durable, offering better protection against rain and environmental conditions than its predecessor, the Oppo Find N3. This aligns with statements from other Oppo executives who have confirmed that waterproofing will be one of the phone’s standout features.

The Oppo Find N5 is also rumored to be exceptionally thin—reportedly even slimmer than Apple’s M4 iPad Pro. Camera enhancements and a next-generation processor upgrade are also expected, making it a strong contender for the top foldable phone of 2025.

Oppo has hinted at a launch date around February 19 or 20, with a global rollout planned. In certain regions, the device will be released under the OnePlus Open 2 branding, and its availability will extend into later 2025.
