Key Points
- Swiveling three-prong power outlet improves compatibility with various case layouts.
- Dual 24-pin and 8-pin connectors on two sides offer superior cable management options.
- Tailored design for ATX and ITX cases, optimizing space and reducing clutter. The modular back panel supports either a USB hub or a fan controller.
- Combo USB/fan hub offers four USB headers and six 4-pin fan connectors.
At Computex 2025, Lian Li debuted its groundbreaking RS Series power supply units, engineered to redefine flexibility and functionality in PC builds. These new ATX power supplies feature a swiveling three-prong power outlet, dual-side power connectors, and a modular back panel.
The RS Series will be available in Q3 2025, with prices starting at $154.99 for the 1000W base model, $159.99 for the same unit bundled with a USB 2.0 hub, and $179.99 for the 1200W variant, also featuring a USB hub.
The most striking innovation is the swiveling power plug, which can rotate from the traditional rear position to the right side of the unit. This is especially useful for non-standard PC layouts, improving installation compatibility.
Lian Li also included duplicate power connectors to improve cable routing and cable management. Both 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS connectors are mounted on two sides—the front and left—of the PSU. This gives users more flexibility in connecting to motherboards regardless of PSU orientation or case design. For instance, the left-mounted ports benefit traditional ATX setups by reducing clutter and improving reach, especially in bottom-mounted PSU configurations.
On the other hand, the front-side connectors are ideal for compact ITX cases, where power supplies are often mounted in non-conventional spots like the front of the chassis. These extra connection points simplify cable routing in such configurations and free up valuable space.
Another notable addition is the modular rear hub mount. This mount supports a USB 2.0 expansion hub (featuring five USB headers) or a combo fan controller and USB hub, providing six 4-pin fan connectors and four USB headers. These are powered via SATA or PCIe 8-pin connectors, making them adaptable to different power setups.
This modularity and forward-thinking design position Lian Li’s RS Series as a go-to solution for mainstream and custom PC builders.
