Eufy has unveiled its latest smart home security innovation, the EufyCam S4, at IFA Berlin. This outdoor security camera boasts a comprehensive suite of features designed to provide unparalleled home protection. The system’s centerpiece is a 4K wide-angle main camera, capable of automatically framing and tracking subjects up to 164 feet away. This intelligent tracking combines pan, tilt, and zoom functionality, ensuring optimal viewing of both individuals and groups. Furthermore, a pair of supplementary 2K sensors enhances the detection and tracking of potential intruders.
The EufyCam S4 employs a sophisticated dual motion detection system, leveraging both radar and passive infrared (PIR) technology. This combination significantly reduces false alarms often triggered by animals or other non-threatening movement, providing more accurate alerts through the Eufy app. Should an intruder be detected, the camera activates both red and blue warning lights, along with a loud siren, to deter them. For enhanced security and storage, the camera is compatible with Eufy’s HomeBase S380. This smart security hub utilizes BionicMind AI for reportedly 99.9% accurate facial recognition and offers a substantial 16TB of local storage.
Powering the EufyCam S4 is a built-in 5.5-watt solar panel, capable of fully charging the camera with just one hour of direct sunlight. The detachable design of the solar panel allows users to optimize its placement for maximum sun exposure. A rechargeable battery is also included, providing a backup power source for cloudy days or periods of limited sunlight.
The EufyCam S4 will be available later this year, priced at $300 for a single camera. Consumers will also have the option of purchasing bundles that include multiple cameras and the HomeBase S380 for a more comprehensive security solution.
