Many computer users hate the sound of loud cooling fans spinning up during their workday. To solve this problem, manufacturers build passive PCs that rely entirely on silent heat sinks instead of noisy moving parts. Historically, these fanless computers featured boring grey or black industrial designs. Kubb just shattered that boring trend by releasing the new Kubb Mini. These tiny 3-inch desktop computers cost $500 and arrive in bright red, bold orange, vibrant green, and deep blue finishes. Buyers who prefer traditional aesthetics can still pick up a standard black or white model.

You really need to see a photograph of the Kubb Mini resting inside a human hand to understand just how small it actually is. Measuring exactly 3 inches across, this little square block takes up practically zero space on a busy desk. Keeping such a small device cool without fans can be difficult, but Kubb makes it work by using highly efficient computer chips. The processors inside these tiny cubes generate very little heat, allowing the metal chassis to absorb and dissipate the thermal energy silently.

Buyers can choose between two different Intel processors. The entry-level model uses the Intel Twin Lake N150 chip. This processor packs 4 cores and 4 threads, hits a top speed of 3.6 GHz, and pulls just 6 watts of power. If you need more performance, you can step up to the Intel Core i3 N300 processor. The upgraded chip doubles the core count to 8 cores and 8 threads, reaches 3.8 GHz, and uses only 7 watts of power. Intel builds both of these processors using its modern Intel 7 manufacturing process, and both chips include 6 megabytes of smart cache memory.

The base $500 configuration gives you a fully functional computer right out of the box. Kubb includes the N150 processor, 16 gigabytes of fast LPDDR5-4800 memory, and a 256-gigabyte NVMe solid-state drive. The company also installs Windows 11 Pro so you can start working immediately. If you want the faster Core i3 N300 processor, you simply add $105 to your checkout total. You cannot add more than 16 gigabytes of system memory to any Kubb Mini, but you can pay extra cash to expand your storage capacity to 512 gigabytes or a massive 1 terabyte.

Naturally, a 3-inch computer limits how many cables you can plug in at once. However, Kubb still provides a solid selection of modern ports. You get a Gigabit Ethernet jack for wired internet, Intel Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2 for your wireless devices. The back panel features two HDMI 2.0 ports for dual monitors, three USB 3.2 ports for your accessories, and a standard 3.5mm audio jack for headphones. You plug the included 12-volt power adapter into a dedicated barrel jack, but you also have the option to power the entire machine using one of its USB-C ports.

Kubb designed this tiny square PC primarily for everyday office tasks, accounting work, and simple web browsing. The company promotes the Mini as an excellent thin client that consumes significantly less electricity than a bulky traditional desktop tower. Home users will find plenty of great uses for this machine, too. You can easily plug the Kubb Mini into your living room television and use it as a silent media center or a fun retro gaming console for the whole family. The bright colors ensure the device looks like a fun decoration rather than an ugly piece of office equipment sitting under your TV.

If you need more computing power than the Mini offers, Kubb sells several larger fanless machines. The company focuses heavily on unique cube-shaped designs across its entire product lineup. Some of their premium models even feature real wood and genuine leather cases, proving that desktop computers do not have to look like boring metal boxes. For now, the Kubb Mini stands out as the most colorful and compact way to bring absolute silence to your daily computing tasks.
